spider

i had a large Tarantula. I found him in a puddle, struggling to get out, just after a storm. Scooping him out of the water, i took him back to my cell and layed him on my blanket. He recuperated quickly, and was roaming around my cell for a warm, dry, dark spot twenty minutes later.
This big, hairy spider roamed freely in my cell every night and haunted roaches, crickets and even moths. Was it his natural instinct to hunt or a thank you for helping him out in a jam? Either way, I appreciated it.
Occasionally, I would wake up in the morning to find him sleeping in the center of the floor. Fearing what the guards would do to him, I'd gently nudge him under my bunk with my toe until he lazily meandered under my bunk. His usual slumber-spot.
But he vanished. He is no longer in my cell. he isn't sleeping off a long night under my bunk as i write this. or is he...

another predatory corporation

Keefe Commissary Network is the company contracted by A.D.O.C. to provide commissary to prisoners. not only have i observed unprofessional conduct by Keefe's employees, but blatantly illegal practices by the company itself. As prisoners, we are a "captive consumer population", forced to buy from Keefe or go without;which is unreasonable considering commissary is a sole means of purchasing hygiene, stationary, postage stamps, clothing, etc.
A few examples of keefe Crook Network's illegal, predatory practices are as follows: 1)"Bait & Switch" is a weekly thing with Keefe. Keefe advertise items with weight, brand and price. Upon receipt of an ordered item, you discover that it is not what was advertised. Example: Cheese Crackers, 16oz., $1.20+ tax. Reality: Cheese Crackers, 11oz, $1.20=tax.
2) Refunds are a consistant ongoing problem with Keefe. Keefe will "accidently" over charge or fail to provide an order; despite having taken your $$$, and wait months to refund that money. I'm no accountant, but it seems to me that if Kefe holds thousands of prisoner's dollars for between 2 to 6 MONTHS in an account, it is gaining a tidy profit off the interest.
What about state and federal regulations and laws? Is there an exemption clause to the Sherman Antitrust Act which allows companies to disregard its prohibitions if they have confined customers? This is yet another example of a predatory company in cahoots with the penile (sic) system, profitting from prisoners.
